Something extra (Homework)

Every once in a while I'll try to come up with something extra, just to keep things interesting
it might be homework, a quote,or some kind of other thing to ponder.
If you have any other fun ideas please let me know.

For the first extra, I thought it would be good to learn about the one who wrote Revelations

who was he?

what was he like?

what did he do?

What was his "claim to fame"?(something that made him stand out)

  1. Revelations was written by the Apostle John. He was put on the island of Patmos because he believed in Jesus. When he lived in Ephesus he grew close to the churches there (as why he wrote the letters to the seven churches). I believe that he was a close follower of Jesus and loved him with all his heart. After he got off the island he continued to preach the gospel around churches. I read that he was the one that set up most of the old churches in Asia. I'm not quite sure what made him stand out, but he stands out in my mind because of how strong he was and faithful he was to the lord. He held on to him through every single trial he experienced.

  2. He also was given the responsibility, of caring for
Jesus's mother, John 19:26,27 states that he
became her son,and she became his mother.

Yes, he is definitely strong and faithful, but
it's important to remember he had some growing to do as all Christians do, in his walk with God, here are
    a few exampls
he was once vengeful, and fiery, and had to be rebuked by Jesus.
    He was also Selfish,and Judgemental
and Jesus had to correct him for it.

But, after Pentecost his fiery personality
matured into righteous boldness, and he was filled with Love, and compassion.
